The Moto E was launched in February of last year. This means it is time for the successor. So far, we have not heard of the 2nd generation Moto E. But like the approach of the launch date - what should happen in a month or two to come - some information began to flow.
Android Police, a website that covers news related to Android, apparently received two images (above) displayed Motorcycle E. If this is true, it seems that the new Moto E will use a slightly modified design compared to current model. The new device takes design elements of the new Moto X. It also seems to have a ring around the camera, but it is not clear whether this ring has a flash or not. From the photos, it looks like Flash is missing.
On the front, the two speakers left. It looks like Motorola will use mono speaker on the new version of the Moto E. However, the front camera, that current models lack, it is in 2nd generation Moto E.
In a break with the recent past, Motorola is organizing an event at Mobile World Congress. It is expected that the company would announce the 2nd generation Moto E at the event.
For now, there is no word on the hardware inside the new Moto E. However, given the low price, it is likely to have, do not expect much. At best, it is likely to have the Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor and 1GB of RAM. But if Motorola opted for slower hardware, it will not be a surprise.
It is expected that the new Moto E use Android Lollipop.
Unlike last year, when the Moto E was virtually unchallenged in the market in the first half of 2014, this time the new phone will face stiff competition from devices such RedMi 1S and Lenovo A6000.
Earlier today, Motorola has revealed that she has sold over 3 million phones in India in the last 10 months. He said that the future would continue to sell phones through Flipkart but also establish centers of experience where people can try and Moto phones.
